Emma Watson and Justin Bieber Have "Most Influential Haircuts of 2011"

Emma Watson, Justin Bieber (Pacific Coast News, Getty) Emma Watson (Pacific Coast News) The numbers don't lie, short hair definitely reigned supreme this year. The Wall Street Journal has just named Emma Watson 's fresh pixie cut and Justin Bieber 's cropped locks The Most Influential Haircuts of 2011 thanks to their dominance of online searches. Apparently we weren't the only ones salivating over images of the stars' new 'dos, which in hindsight, are strikingly similar. According to the WSJ , The enthusiasm plays out online, where the fastest-rising searches for celebrity haircuts on Google are for Ms. Watson and Mr. Bieber. This is more of a change for women -- for whom short hair hasn't been trendy since the '90s -- than for men, who may justifiably feel sheepish about asking for the cut. Although Emma seems to be growing out her striking cut in favor of softer side-swept locks, the Biebs seems to have fully embraced his "swish" hairstyle

12/26/2011. Justin Bieber Targeted For Elimination Online report from August was the No 3 pop story of 2011. Here it is: (TMZ) Justin Bieber has been victimized by a brand new cyber-enemy ... an enemy who found a way to get every single one of JB's official music videos REMOVED from YouTube. It sounds so simple -- a YouTube user who goes by the name iLCreation submitted a copyright claim on each of Bieber's videos ... including the "Baby" video which has over 600 MILLION views. YouTube has a yank first, ask questions later policy when a copyright claim is made -- so they simply pulled the videos off the site ... until the dispute is resolved. iLCreation also went after a few Lady Gaga videos -- but only a few of her videos are missing in action. Bieber's VEVO channel (a dedicated site for music videos) has been completely wiped out for the time being ... but a rep for VEVO tells us, "Someone is making false copyright claims against the Justin Bieber and Lady

From the Globe and Mail: First Michael Bubl, now Justin Bieber. One day after Bubl took the ice with the Vancouver Canucks, Bieber did the same with the Toronto Maple Leafs Wednesday at the Air Canada Centre. The 17-year-old Canadian pop phenom skated with Leafs players Dion Phaneuf , Jake Gardiner , Jonas Gustavsson and Tyler Bozak before taping his Christmas special at Massey Hall. Unlike Bubl, Bieber didnt wear full equipment. He sported a tuque and Leafs track suit and took shots on Gustavsson. Bieber and Buble square off for Christmas dominance

Date: Wednesday Dec. 21, 2011 9:23 AM ET TORONTO Justin Bieber's holiday show may be the hottest ticket in Toronto this week, but few have better reasons for Christmas cheer this season than his compatriot Michael Buble. While Bieber was set to perform a hotly anticipated acoustic Christmas show at Toronto's Massey Hall on Wednesday night, Buble is fresh off a memorable performance on "Saturday Night Live" and his holiday disc has been one of the hottest items of the holiday shopping season. So, which Canadian crooner is flying higher at the moment? Perhaps a tale of the tape can help determine the victor: AGE: Buble is 36, while Bieber is 17. HOMETOWN: Bieber hails from Stratford, Ont., while Buble grew up in Burnaby, B.C. MOST MANTEL METAL?: Considering that Bieber's brand of featherlight teen-pop typically elicits sneering from some critics, his awards tally has been impressive: two Juno Awards and a pair of Grammy nominations.
