Justin Bieber's Mom Producing Pro-Life Short Film: Video

Pattie Mallette, mother of Justin Bieber, is hoping to bring her pro-life short film to a theater near you.

Mallette is promoting screenings of 'Crescendo' as a fundraising opportunity for pregnancy centers around the world. According to the film's website, it will be shown at 100 location on Feb. 28, with proceeds going to centers helping women and their children.

She said in a statement she hopes the film, on which she is listed as an executive producer, will "encourage young women all over the world, just like me, to let them know that there is a place to go, people who will take care of you and a safe home to live in if you are pregnant and think you have nowhere else to turn."

'Crescendo,' from writer-director Alonso Alvarez, stars former Miss USA Ali Landry.

Mallette, who became pregnant with her now-famous son at 17, has been an outspoken voice in the pro-life movement, and wrote about her struggles with single motherhood in her 2012 memoir, 'Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber's Mom.' In her book, she said she was pressured into having an abortion when she became pregnant with Bieber.

"I knew that I had to do what it took," she wrote. "I just couldn't abort him."

Last Mother's Day, Bieber released the charity single "Turn to You," which benefited single mothers.
