Justin Bieber Swears He's a 'Good Guy'

The 18-year-old Canadian pop star has faced a flurry of less-than-flattering rumors in the wake of his breakup with ex-Disney starlet Selena Gomez, and while he's mostly remained mum, it does appear that all the whispers are starting to get to him. On Friday morning, the singer mused on Twitter, "some of the rumors about me are just so ridiculous u gotta laugh. people are creative. kinda over it. im a good guy. that's all."

While some of the buzz is admittedly Justin's own fault (he probably shouldn't have Instagrammed a picture of his own butt crack, for example, and that wacky tobaccky picture wasn't a good look), it's hard to believe every story circulating these days. Like, for instance:

1. Justin spit in a North Carolina radio host's water bottle.A woman named Colette Harrington wrote a lengthy Facebook post in which she described an awkward encounter with the Biebs at a Ritz Carlton gym in Charlotte. According to Harrington, Bieber and a colleague made fun of her workout routine and maybe spit into her water bottle (after the story hit the web, she later clarified that she'd accidentally swigged from Justin's bottle, thinking it was her own). The only part of the story that seems to have been verified, however, is that Justin didn't want to pose for a photo with Harrington.

2. Justin is trying to win Selena Gomez back with his soulful new album.A source told the intensely creative folks at HollywoodLife that Justin hoped he'd be able to win Selena Gomez back with his songwriting skills, but that she's having none of it: "He keeps trying to get her to listen to his acoustic record and shes just ignoring it, and him." There's a new leaked track, "Nothing Like Us," that seems to support this story, with lyrics like "There's nothing like us, there's nothing like you and me, together through the storm."

3. He hooked up with a nursing student named Mimi.Star magazine claims that Justin had a "drug-fueled sex romp" with a 22-year-old nursing student named Milyn "Mimi" ! Jenson in! Beverly Hills on December 21. While it's not terribly hard to believe certain aspects of the story like that Bieber got stoned and picked up McDonald's, for example it's hard to believe he would have done such a thing fresh off a mini-vacation to Salt Lake City with Gomez. Also, the magazine did not interview Jenson, and relies on one of those pesky "anonymous sources."

At least all the scandals are helping to keep the Biebs' name in the news as he prepares to release Believe Acoustic, a collection of stripped-down arrangements that showcase Justin's voice. Check out "Nothing Like Us" below would it win you over if you were his scorned ex?
