Justin Bieber gives friend a car for Christmas

Music star Justin Bieber gave his childhood friend a new car for Christmas.

Ryan Butler became the proud owner of a two-door Ford Mustang convertible this holiday season. The car is valued at roughly $34,000.

"Justin got me a present. #swag!!!," Butler tweeted after receiving his surprise.

Bieber also tweeted about spending the holidays with his family in Canada, although he kept quiet about his gift to Butler.

"Spending time with familyfeels really good. Going to get to see these smiles on Christmas" he wrote.

Bieber, 17, and Butler grew up together in Stratford, Ontario. Butler made a cameo appearance in the music video for Biebers 2009s song for his hit song One Time.

In September, Bieber rented out the Staples Center in Los Angeles to enjoy a romantic evening with his girlfriend, singer/actress Selena Gomez.

After they attended a Demi Lovato concert at the Nokia Theater, he took Gomez through the underground tunnels which connect the theater to the Staples Center.

Once inside, they had a candlelit dinner catered by the Lexus Club. Gomez was then surprised when the film Titanic (1997) played on the screen.

More recently, Bieber performed on the X Factor finale, which aired Thursday.
