STRATFORD, Ont. Justin Bieber fans are awash with concern for the Canadian pop star's grandparents after learning the pair were in a car crash.

Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, broke the news on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, setting off an outpouring of support online.

Ontario Provincial Police confirm Bieber's grandparents, Bruce and Diane Dale, drove into a ditch Tuesday afternoon after hitting a patch of slushy snow on a road near Stratford, Bieber's hometown.

Const. Kees Wijnands says the car rolled over and struck a small tree before landing back on its wheels.

He says Bruce Dale was treated in hospital and both are fine.

The hashtag #prayforjustinsgrandparents remains popular on Twitter today.
