Justin Bieber Not a Belieber in Santa: My Mom Always Told Me There Wasnt a Santa'

His fans may be 'beliebers' but Justin Bieber was not a belieber in Santa Claus growing up thanks to his mom.

"My mom always told me there wasn't a Santa," Bieber said in aninterview with AOL Musicabout his mother, Pattie Mallette."This was her logic: She thought if I grew up knowing about Santa then finding out he wasn't real, that it would be like she was lying to me. And then when she told me about God, I maybe wouldn't believe her. So she just wanted to be straight-up and honest with me all the time."

The 17-year-old singer, whose Christmas album "Under the Mistletoe" tops the charts on Billboard's Hot 100, said Christmas for him was more about spending time with loved ones.

"Christmas was always a time for being with family and friends -- and being off school and in the snow," he said. "In Canada, there's lots of snow so it was always good fun. My cousins, aunts, uncles and friends would come down."

Bieber said his family would play a game to exchange holiday gifts by rolling dice; If someone rolled doubles, they got to pick a present. If a person rolled doubles during their next turn, they got to choose someone else's present and switch, according to Bieber.

So what was Bieber's favorite present ever?

"I remember getting my first red bike which didn't have training wheels on it. I was stoked," he said. "I thought it was the best present ever. It took me a little bit to learn how to ride it; I banged myself up, but I learned."

This year Bieber plans to spend time with his family this Christmas in his native Canada and spend a moment relaxing, as the singer has been busy promoting his album and music video, "All I Want for Christmas" with Mariah Carey.

However, Bieber won't be getting to bed early on ! Christma s Eve for the arrival of Santa, since he doesn't believe. But that doesn't mean he spoiled the Christmas spirit for everyone; Bieber said he never told any friends growing up about his disbelief in Santa.

"But I didn't tell my friends or ruin it for anyone -- I was a good kid!"

Hope he didn't spoil it for all of the boys and girls this year!
