With summer being the "season of skin" and all, it's not hard to see why it also brings about a major spike in tattoos. We saw Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga each opt in for a bit of new ink once this summer already, but lo and behold, the ceremonious end-of-summer we know as Labor Day Weekend may have inspired the two international pop star to sneak in one more tattoo before the fall/winter cold snap.

The Biebz proves his share-worthy status tweeting another shirtless picture (his third in three days!) and revealing this crown tattoo over his pectoral muscle. We're not sure what exactly this new insigne could mean (Justin doesn't offer up much to contextualize it, and it's definitely more cryptic than his last tattoo), but we like how it looks.

Gaga, fresh off her album-teasing "ARTPOP" ink, evidently felt that one summer tatt wasn't enough. She uploaded this snap of herself showing off her new anchor ink to Little Monsters. Mother Mons! ter incl uded the caption, "New Tat. Stamp of His Mermaid," which reminds us of Yyi, her mermaid alter-ego who we've seen scant of for the better part of a year. Our need to figure out whether or not this could hint at an epic return for Yyi is eclipsed by our desire to know who the "Him" Gaga is referring to could be.
