(Bauer Griffin)more pics Selena Gomez (Bauer Griffin) The Justin Bieber paternity scandal isn't quite over, according to alleged baby mama Mariah Yeater's lawyer, but the pop singer and his longtime girlfriend Selena Gomez are probably breathing sighs of relief as the bizarre incident continues to lose steam.

Yeater has apparently dismissed her paternity suit against Justin Bieber, but her lawyer Jeffrey Leving says they're just hoping to settle the matter privately, for the sake of his client's safety. Leving explained that Yeater has been recieving death threats and scary phone calls since the story broke earlier this month.

Selena Gomez has declined to comment on the situation, which is really no big surprise considering how little she comments on her private life in general. Remember, kids, that she refused to confirm her relationship with Bieber for months, at one point claiming she considered him family.! But she 's got to feel some relief that people aren't going to ask about it anymore.

Meanwhile, Justin Bieber is finally back in the United States after laying it down in Europe for the past couple of weeks.
