Weird Justin Bieber Sports Moments: Fan's View
If you are a real Justin Bieber fan, it is likely that you have reviewed hundreds of hours of video clips on this entertainment heart-throb. Loyal Bieber buffs also know that he is a great athlete in more than one sport. Regardless, sports aficionados that are not akin to this Canadian will enjoy seeing him in some of the stranger sports moments that have spanned his career.
Is Bieber a real sports fan at all?
In a 2009 interview, the young Bieber states that his favorite sport is hockey followed by basketball. In particular, he is dedicated to teams from his home city of Ontario, Canada. Despite the fact that it has been some time since they won the Stanley Cup, Bieber says that he is a "real fan" and does not switch teams because they are not winning.
Arm wrestling Miquita Oliver
U.K. host Miquita Oliver got a chance to interview Bieber -- but did not do much talking. Instead, she decided to challenge him to an arm wrestling match. Needless to say, Bieber triumphed and continued to tell Oliver news that his fans in England wanted to hear.
Bieber bowling with NBA advice
When Bieber went bowling, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal joined him. Joking around, Shaq tells Justin, "This one is going to be called 'Don't bother me, I'm on the phone in the back of the club.'" What was funny is that Shaq actually makes a strike in his attempts to get Bieber to laugh. To prove to the NBA star that he means business, Justin shows him how to do a winning "free throw."
Shaq and Justin are also frequently featured together in television clips. A good example of the two of them being strange together is when Bieber challenges Shaq to a dance-o! ff.< /p>
Justin is a 'chucker'
When it comes to basketball, Bieber describes himself as a die-hard fan. In 2011, he put his money where his mouth is and joined the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. During his plays, commentators described his athletic style as being a basketball "chucker." One interesting scene during this game is when he shoves a player on the other team after a play that went wrong. In his defense, he could have been feeling aggressive since he was hit in the head twice during the match.
For those that think that Bieber's court performance was just luck -- think again. He also shows Usher who is boss in a one-on-one game. Sadly, when he attended a New York Knicks match, he was booed by the audience when his face appeared on camera during the game.
Bieber meets hockey hero
When Justin was given a chance to meet his hero, Wayne Gretzky, television producers asked him to play air hockey first. In order to get into the spirit, Bieber put on a pair of sunglasses to ensure that he had his "game face." Thankfully, he loses the glasses just in time to meet his NHL hero.
Normally, Bieber is the one that is making fans starstruck -- but his reaction to meeting Gretzky was priceless. When Gretzky steps up to the air hockey table, Bieber sheepishly scores the first point.
